Weekend Getaway!

After two full weekends of moving my office I decided the only way William and I would get any rest and relaxation would be to go out of town. We left on Friday after work and traveled to Arcata and stayed at the Quality Suites Inn. Saturday met up with some friends (from Redding who we haven't seen in quite some time) in Trinadad and spent the day driving up the coast spending some time at Patricks Point (Agate Beach & Wedding Rock) and another beach access area. Took the coastal road into just south of Crescent City to Klamath. After spending the day at the beaches we had a nice fish dinner in Trinidad. The weather was WONDERFUL!! Sunday we got up and decided we would take Hwy 36 from Fortuna to Cottonwood home. That is one crazy curvey road!!! Took us 4.5 hours to get home and only used a quarter tank of gas ... don't think we went over 45 mph at any given time. Nice thing about the weekend - motel room was FREE (William earns motel points due to his tremendous amount of time he spends at motels) Best thing about the weekend - spending quality time with my hubby.

Where oh where has Beth been ......

..... one may ask? Well ... I can't actually believe it was April when I last blogged. Lots has happened since then but not necessarily exciting.

Of course May starts our weekend trips to the R-Ranch every weekend ... between work, R-Ranch and squeezing time in with the grandbabies I have no life. Monday is laundry day, Tuesday is shopping day, Wednesday is packing day, Thursday is back to the ranch for the weekend, Sunday is home and visits from the girls (which we all know when they are around the world stops and it's all about them!! As it should be!) Well weekends at the ranch were longer this year than we anticipated due to my responsibilities of being on the board of directors. July 4th was quite an eventful day at it was the annual Owners Meeting & Elections which were very stressful due to the candidates that were running (won't bore you with the details ... let's just say the people we wanted to win did!!) and then our usual July Board Meeting and Executive Session. We had a fun BBQ at our campsite with a few of our camping friends. It was very relaxing to take the week of July 6th off work and spend a whole week at the ranch.

On Monday we went on a 60 mile ATV trip. Dirty but fun!! We had a few out of town friends spend a day or two with us which was nice. We were able to do some fishing and over all relaxing for the week. After a couple of weekends of meetings and such we packed up the trailer for the summer until our return to the Ranch on Labor Day Weekend.

Since we have been home life has continued not to be boring .... We celebrated Alexis turning 4 at Galaxy Gymnatics (the kids love that place), and then my boss gave a two week notice that we are moving the office. Why you might ask ... simple .... the current landlord refused to reduce the rent to accomodate the changing market so Don was able to find a place for 2/3 less than our current rent and it would still hold us all. We have moved our office to Mission Square on Bechelli Ln. Now along with a move comes PACKING!! Wait a minute ... I didn't sign up for that job!! Each agent was responsible to pack up their own office but what about the tons and tons of stuff that is scattered all over the rest of the office. Has anyone tried to find boxes around Redding ... they are non existance!!! Everyone crushes their boxes. To make a long story short moving the office was a NIGHTMARE!!! So.... after 8 days we finally have everything moved after much hard labor ... my DH (bless his heart) spending HOURS upon HOURS helping us move but the nightmare doesn't end .... we have been a week without internet (boy oh boy have we become dependent on internet in our world of real estate) and not quite sure when it will be hooked up. Most of last week I would work all day and then take my computer home and work another 3 hours due to one of our agents being out of town and having a lot of escrow paperwork needing to be scanned and email back and forth. (The scanner at the office didn't work so had to use our scanner at home.).... So tomorrow is Monday and other than having no internet at the office I am really hopeing we can get back into a normal work week!

Well .... that is all that has been happening in our world. I have enjoyed keeping up with everyone by reading their blogs ... Jennifer I have to admit you continue to keep me laughing (waxing!!) and always good to keep up with the Faires Family and Knowles family. Until we blog again .. I hope everyone has a joyful rest of your summer!!!

Not much happening .....

..... but it has been a while since I blogged (not that anyone really reads mine). I have been so so busy at work ... pretty much got my office all orgainzed the way I want it and finished up some misc. cleaning around the office. We are only about a month away before we begin our summer at the ranch ... as many of you know I really enjoy our time at the ranch. William took the drift boat to Medford and had A LOT of work done on the boat. He had a new floor put in (as the old one was wood and was rotting out), new bench seats with lockable storage, new foot drop anchor as well as the inside completely resprayed. The boat looks awesome and now all we need are new seats and we will be fishing in style!! The nice thing is the lockable storage so now we don't have to unload it every weekend and put stuff in the trailer. He even got a cover so we can cover it and help it last much longer as this will probably be his last drift boat for quite some time! I'm sure I will have lots of fun stuff to post once we are spending time at the ranch!!

Everyday is a new day .....

I have made a lot of improvements to my new office at Re/Max. I have 10 times less piles lying around and I am getting more organized every day. My next task will be to organize what is in the file drawers .... at least they are hidden and I don't have to see them! I do enjoy the people that work in the office and I am really glad I was able to get a job at a place where I already knew a few of the people. Hopefully this will be the last posting you have to read about my new job and I will have something exciting to post soon!

Part III ....

Day one at new job .... Oh my gosh did I ever feel like a fish out of water!! For an organized obsessed person this can go into my book of the 10 most un-organized days of my life!! First off Don didn't tell his gal she was being replaced until today (I was sure he would have told her on Friday and thank goodness he did tell her away from the office). Needless to say all of her stuff was still in her office. Piles of paper everywhere ... files everywhere ... need I say more. She was going to come in tonight after she got out of school to clear out the office. I didn't want to go in and start moving papers around and making myself at home. Just didn't feel comfortable and didn't want her to feel bad when she came in tonight to clear out her stuff. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to dive right in to all the files and make heads and tails out of all the piles in the office. I can already tell that Don has a sorta of "whatever works" attitude about paperwork. I bet he doesn't even know what agents have what properties listed. I have to really take a step back and take off my "bosses" hat and realize that I am no longer the boss. Give me time however and I am sure that hat will be put back on!! J/K!!! Hopefully this weekend I will be able to get into the office and really get it set up to my liking so next Monday I will be ready to dive right in and start organizing things and see where I fit in at Re/Max.

A New Adventure .... Part II

Today I was able to make final settlement and arrangements for my New Adventure ... I guess it isn't so much a New Adventure as it is a new work place. I will begin my new job on Monday, March 23, at Re/Max 5 Star in Redding. I will be doing pretty much the same thing I did at Premier in regards to Transaction Coordination but will take on some new tasks as Don Davis' assistant. Not sure what it all will entail but it will be a little bit different than the tasks I did for JC. Hopefully I will be able to step back a little as the dominate person in the office and not let my controlness get in the way. I think I will learn some new stuff from Don and I also think I will be able to bring some ideas to him as well. First item on the agenda after I get settled in is some organization (my gift as many of you know!!). I don't think organization is top priority in that office as boxes of files are just stuffed here and there. I feel very blessed to be able to land a job so quickly. JC gave me notice on Friday and I was able to sit down with Don on Friday evening and start the negotiation process. I even received a call from a totally different job situation once the owner found out I would be looking for a new place of employ. It did make me feel good that someone out there was interested in my talents based on my professionalism in dealing with the public. I fell good about my new job in that my dear friend Robin works at Re/Max and my dear friend Tara will also be leaving Premier and working at Re/Max. I am excited about the new job opportunity but sad in the fact I have to leave Premier. I really felt I would be working at Premier until I retired in my 60's. It also saddens me that someone was removed from employ in order for me to take this position. Stay tuned for what lies ahead for me! Who knows ... maybe when JC is able to get his personal life on track and he is ready to get back into Real Estate he will open the doors of Premier and I will be ready and willing to go back into his employ!!

P.S. I was even lucky enough to negotiate my Friday's off for R-Ranch time!!

A New Adventure ....

WOW .... Friday the 13th ended up being an interesting day. After 11 1/2 years at the same job with the same fun people my journey at Premier Real Estate will be ending within the next couple of weeks. It just goes to show that your job is never secure no matter how confident you feel. It came as a surprise and shock. I am okay and will be embarking on a new adventure. For those of you who pray all I can say is please pray for my dear friend JC for the Lord's guidance and direction and to make decisions that are based on God's direction and not his own. More details to follow once I know what I am going to do.
